The Lerner Company has a long and storied history. As our company moves forward, we are committed to sharing more news with greater details. In the past, we have shared highlights from our company as they have occurred, and we are incredibly proud of each of these past achievements.

  • The Lerner Company is pleased to announce the appointment of two new corporate officers.  Jim Prysiazny has been appointed Vice President, Property Management.  Dee Muessel assumes the new role of Vice President, Accounting and Administration.  Congratulations Jim and Dee!
  • The Lerner Company is pleased to announce two new businesses will be joining the tenant mix at Pepperwood Village on 156th & Dodge, Omaha, NE.  Smashburger and Scottrade, Inc. will be opening stores in the shopping center in late 2010.
  • The Lerner Company is pleased to announce Trader Joe’s will soon be opening at One Pacific Place on 103rd Street in Omaha, NE.  The Lerner Company represented the Landlord in the successful negotiation of the deal.  This will be the first Trader Joe’s in the state of Nebraska.
  • The Lerner Company was retained by The Fellowship of Christian Athletes to acquire their new office space.  This assignment was completed at 120th and Dodge within the requested budget and timeline.
  • The Lerner Company continued its role advising Panda Express with their site acquisition by closing on their first central Iowa deal in September at Altoona Crossing in Altoona, IA.  The Lerner Company continues to pursue sites for Panda throughout Nebraska and Iowa.
  • The Lerner Company completed two additional deals at Metro Crossing with Aspen Dental and Smashburger being added to the line-up to continue the success of this Super Regional Iowa Power Center.
  • The Lerner Company closed on two transactions at Metro Crossing, bringing the Olive Garden (first Darden deal in over 5 years) and Pizza Ranch (first deal in MSA) as additons to this Kimco owned project.
  • The Lerner Company finalized a lease on behalf of Tuesday Morning in Fargo, ND to be positioned on the heavily retailed 13th Avenue.
  • The Lerner Company’s Ben Meier has been nominated to carry out his 2nd term of ICSC’s Retail Chairperson role for Nebraska and Iowa.  The Lerner Company’s associates are pleased to have had this industry leadership role for more than a combined decade.
  • The Lerner Company was hired by the new owner of Crossroads Mall for leasing and management services.  Lerner is now working on the redevelopment of the project.
  • While representing CW Capitol, The Lerner Company was pleased to assist Cushman Wakefield in the sale of Crossroads Mall.
  • In representing the third largest retail developer, Kimco Realty Corporation, The Lerner Company has brought to Metro Crossing in Council Bluffs, Panda Express.  Also represented by The Lerner Company, Panda Express is the largest Chinese Food QSR in the country.  Construction has begun on the first Iowa free-stander and a late summer opening is planned.  At least 10 more sites are projected for the State of Iowa.  Although Metro Crossing is 100% leased there are some outlot opportunites available.
  • The Lerner Company continues to help Staples with their Midwest rollout.  A lease was signed for their first store in Lincoln, NE, which will open in Spring of 2010.  Another lease was signed in Sioux City, IA for a Summer 2010 opening at the Lakeside Shopping Center.
  • Kohll’s Home Pharmacy has opened for business at their new location in Miracle Hills Park on 114th and Dodge.  Miracle Hills is anchored by Russo’s, DJ’s Dugout, and Stokes.
  • Representing our 11th transaction for Panera, The Lerner Company is pleased to announce the completion and opening this Summer at 12th and P in Lincoln.  Frank Barber represents Panera Bread in Nebraska, South Dakota and Western Iowa.
  • A 20,087 sf PetsMart opened at Metro Crossing Shopping Center, a 550,000 SF power center in Council Bluffs, in late March.  The Tenant was represented by Boh Kurylo of the Lerner Company and the Landlord was represented by Deb Iaboni with Iaboni Real Estate.  The Lerner Company is now representing the Landlord on this project.
  • The Lerner Company is pleased to announce the most recent tenant to sign up at Metro Crossing in Council Bluffs, Heartland Cellular.  Heartland will join the brand new 550,000 SF power center anchored by Target, Kohl’s and Bed Bath & Beyond.
  • The Lerner Company welcomes the addition of a new PetsMart PetsHotel to the Whispering Ridge Shopping Center located at 168th and Maple.  Other tenants are SuperTarget and Sports Authority.  The Lerner Company represented both sides of the transaction with Boh Kurylo representing the tenant and Rick Quinlevan representing the Landlord.
  • The Lerner Company is proud to announce the induction of Jay Lerner and Sal Carta to the Commerical Real Estate Workshop’s (CREW) Hall of Fame last Friday, April 17, 2009.   The workshop, in it’s 20th year, was well attended by commercial real estate professionals, government officials, attorneys and others.  The topic of the event was “Righting the Ship: Charting the Course in Difficult Waters.”  Congratulations Jay and Sal!
  • The Lerner Company and Famous Footwear have completed a lease at Dawley Farm Village, a new shopping center in Sioux Falls, SD anchored by Kohl’s and Target.
  • The Lerner Company and Dollar Tree have completed a lease for 9,521 SF at American Plaza in Bellevue.
  • Buffalo Wild Wings will be opening March 2009 in Shadow Lake Town Center.   Rick Quinlevan of The Lerner Company  represents Buffalo Wild Wings in Nebraska and Southern Minnesota.
  • The Lerner Company secured the tenant rep assignment for Panda Express, America’s largest Chinese restaurant concept with over 1,000 stores.
  • The Lerner Company continues to expand its third party management portfolio having recently acquired a contract to manage Whispering Ridge Shopping Center, owned by the Minneapolis based Ryan Companies US, Inc.
  • The Lerner Company and Tip Top Tux have completed leasing agreements for Shadow Lake Towne Center and Village Pointe.
  • The Lerner Company is pleased to announce the addition of One Pacific Place and The Shoppes at Market Pointe, owned by Cole Capital of Phoenix, AZ, to its third party management portfolio.
  • The Lerner Company is pleased to announce the construction of a new Walgreens in Settler’s Creek, located at 72nd and Cornhusker in Papillion.
  • In representing the 3rd largest retail developer in the country, Kimco Realty Corporation, The Lerner Company has completed two additional leases at Metro Crossing in Council Bluffs with Dollar Tree and Christopher and Banks, bringing the 435,00 SF power center to over 93% occupied.
  • The Lerner Company has leased 6,400 SF to Douglas County in Spring Valley Shopping Center.  Spring Valley is now 100% leased.
  • Continuing the pattern of Multi-Market consulting, The Lerner Company will be representing Firestone Complete Auto Care in acquisitions in Nebraska, Iowa, North Dakota and Missouri.
