Rick Quinlevan

President – Brokerage Services

Richard C. Quinlevan is the President of Lerner Brokerage Services, the commercial real estate division of The Lerner Company specializing in retail brokerage, leasing, management and tenant representation.

Quinlevan graduated from Marquette University, after which he began a career in commercial real estate, specializing in sales and leasing brokerage activities. He later specialized in corporate site acquisition and development serving within the real estate departments of Taco Bell, Rocky Rococo and Payless ShoeSource, during which period he was engaged in real estate activities in more than 10 states.

Quinlevan joined The Lerner Company in 1989 as Director of Leasing and Brokerage and served in that capacity until being named President of Lerner Brokerage Services in March 1996.

Boh Kurylo

Executive Vice President – Brokerage Services

Boh Kurylo is the Executive Vice President of Lerner Brokerage Services, the commercial real estate division of The Lerner Company specializing in retail tenant representation, third party leasing, investment sales and property management.

Kurylo graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1977, after which he began a career in sales. In 1984, he joined Coldwell Banker Commercial in Houston, Texas, where he specialized in the leasing of retail properties, and the sale of commercial land.  He was awarded the Distinguished Achievement Award for his rookie year.

In 1990, Kurylo joined Hyper Shoppes Real Estate where his primary responsibility was the leasing of three malls totaling over 1.7 million square feet in Denver, Colorado, Louisville, Kentucky, and Cincinnati, Ohio.

Pacific Realty Group, Inc. made Kurylo its Vice President in 1993; his primary responsibility was for the expansion and development of its retail brokerage division in Omaha, Nebraska. Due largely to his efforts, the retail division was able to achieve $12.4 million in sales and leasing for 1995.

Kurylo was recruited to join The Lerner Company in 1996 to fill the expanding retail needs of its clients. His goal as a Principal of the Company is to expand the brokerage division and, with other members of the Company, to combine the Company’s development expertise with its brokerage capabilities creating overall stronger client service.  His primary focus has been on Tenant Representation, helping in formulating and implementing new market roll-outs in Nebraska, Iowa, North and South Dakota.  Some of the tenants Boh has represented include Dick’s Sporting Goods, PetSmart, Staples, ULTA, Verizon, Starbucks, Hollywood Video, Vitamin Shoppe, Carter’s and Panda Express.

Ben Meier

Vice President – Brokerage Services

Meier graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. He joined The Lerner Company in 2007 having three years of previous commercial retail brokerage experience at Grubb & Ellis. Coming from a successful background in retail sales and management along with a background in construction, Ben has been able to utilize this experience in advising clients in all aspects of the process.

Ben’s strong initiative has led to representation of both national and local clients in Tenant and Landlord work. His advisory services have been utilized in multi-market situations, having been assigned to leasing acquisitions and dispositions in Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota and Illinois. His experience has included ground up development, existing center redevelopment, and new market roll-outs. Meier has been involved in more than $162 Million worth of transactions throughout his career. His approach is that of a partnership with his clients, taking an ownership mindset toward each assignment.

Jared Sullivan

Associate Broker

Jared Sullivan joined The Lerner Company as an Associate Broker in 2017.  He spent the last six years with the United States Air Force serving as Security in the National Airborne Operations Center.  In addition, he has worked as an intern analyst at The Lerner Company in 2016, assisting with new market rollouts, project leasing, merchandising plans and site selections.

Jared specializes in landlord/tenant representation with a focus on Nebraska markets.

Brian Houlihan

Associate Broker

Brian joined The Lerner Company as an Associate in 2018.  His primary focus is on investment sales and acquisitions, with an emphasis on retail assets.  Brian is also involved with Tenant and Landlord representation.

With a background in business consulting and management, prior to joining the company, he spent 8 years in Costa Rica where he launched an import trading company.

Brian graduated in 2001 from Texas Christian University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Dennis Thaemert

Senior Associate – Brokerage Services

Dennis Thaemert joined The Lerner Company in 2003 as an Associate specializing in retail brokerage and tenant representation.

Thaemert graduated from Kansas State University and began his career in the retail industry. After serving in several management positions with Montgomery Ward, Thaemert opened his own independent retail boutiques selling designer apparel for approximately fifteen years .

Since joining The Lerner Company, Thaemert has been involved in brokering transactions for both national and independent tenants in Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota .

Adam Maurer

Associate Broker

Adam joined The Lerner Company as an Associate.  His focus is on landlord and tenant representation with an emphasis in retail distribution.  Adam has shown an ability to absorb the complexities of a deal by being actively involved in numerous transactions. Prior to joining he interned for two years in the commercial real estate business while finishing college.

Adam graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a degree in Accounting and has served the Omaha Metro area by volunteering at the Open Door Mission.

Mandi Backhaus

Associate Broker

Mandi joined The Lerner Company full-time as an Associate in 2020 after a one-year internship. Her focus is on Tenant Representation, Landlord Representation, Development, and Market Research.  Since joining The Lerner Company, she has been involved in brokering transactions in Nebraska, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota.

Mandi graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with concentrations in real estate, marketing, and management.

Samuel Rolfe

Associate Broker

Sam joined The Lerner Company as an Associate in 2022.  His primary focus is on landlord representation in leasing and investment sales, with an emphasis on retail assets.

Prior to joining the Lerner team, Sam had been with Ogden & Company, Inc. in Milwaukee, WI for five years.  At Ogden he negotiated numerous deals with his main focus being on office and retail leasing and sales. For example, Sam was tasked with leasing the Northern Lights Building on Water Street in late 2018, at the time the building had an occupancy rate of less than 70%. While he had the building listed, Sam brought the building to 89% occupancy. Similarly, he took the Ironwood Office Park listing at nearly 50% occupancy and brought it to 97% within a year.

Before entering the workforce, Sam was a student at Marquette University and graduated with two degrees, a Bachelor of Business Administration in both Business Economics and Commercial Real Estate. He was also an active member of the Real Estate Club at Marquette and is still an active member of their Real Estate Alumni program. Sam is eager to use his skills to maximize the potential of any property he works with for both sellers and lessors
